Mortimer P. Clark (P. stands for nothing)
Muncher of plants, Dweller of tubes, Beggar of treats
People ask me all the time, “what got you into wreathmaking?” Or “what got you into dried flowers?” The honest answer is I have my cat Morty to thank for that. He is the Mortimer to the Liv&Mortimer name.
In March of 2023, me and my husband became proud cat parents of Mortimer. Before I became a cat mom, I was a plant lady. I thought I could be both, but the fates determined I had to choose. Unfortunately, Morty is a plant nibbler. At risk of serious illness, the plants had to go. I was devastated since I had amassed numerous varieties of succulents and exotic plants over the years. There were quite a few plants I owned that were toxic to cats.
In a roundabout way, this led to me considering playing around with faux florals since they are more pet safe and I still had a need for beauty in my home. I had started making and selling faux floral wreaths in my first year of business, however during that time my love for dried florals grew. I started experimenting with making wreaths and arrangements out of dried florals, and currently Liv&Mortimer makes everything exclusively with real dried and pressed florals. Here we are; still making, still experimenting, still going out of our comfort zone in what we make. Sometimes with alt, goth, or witchy vibes. Sometimes bright, colorful, and cheery.
You can find Liv&Mortimer vending at various south Jersey craft fairs throughout the year or at punk rock flea markets in NJ/Philly. Shop our products in store at 8th & Ash Co. in Haddon Twp, NJ.
Cheers,
